POST GTI - Reception and processing of data from sensors
Reception of data from sensors at the wellsite, their processing, storage, visualization, preparation of reports
Software for GTI stations that supports modern computer technologies and solves modern problems for high-quality GTI service provision.
"POST GTI" is designed for receiving various types of data (technological, geological, GIS and other wellsite services), processing, saving, preparing reports, visualizing data at the GTI station, displaying information on the screens of remote workstations of the wellsite (company representative, supervisor, drilling foreman, geologist, drill fluid engineer) and providing data to third parties.
The GTI station using attached external and built-in equipment carries out the following:
“Code Manager” ensures the collection and storage of initial data received from sensors in their original form. The storage of such data is limited in time and initially lasts 5 days.
“Data Processing and Analysis” synchronizes and processes data from the Code Base. External calculation modules are connected to data processing which can save their data into separate data sets. As a result, after the processing cycle, the data is saved to the Database. Since the original data is already stored in the Code Base, we have the opportunity, if necessary, to suspend data processing for some time without any data loss.
The “Application Server” provides data to external programs for viewing, printing, preparing reports, and delivering data using standard protocols.
Clients of the wellsite (drilling foreman, supervisor) use exclusively an Internet browser to view data. No software is installed on their computer.
GTI service specialists located in the office, with remote access to the GTI server, can monitor and help to solve problems directly from the office. Such approach expedites the problem-solving and enhances the GTI service quality as a result of continuous monitoring of GTI station work by the side of their management.
The weight of the drillstring is determined as follows:
The software package determines technological operations automatically based on the readings of the main sensors and the incorporated mathematical model for recognizing situations.
Pressure losses are calculated at all stages of drill fluid motion. The jet gun parameters on the drilling bit are calculated.
Pressure losses are calculated for sections inside the drilling tool and in the annular space. During hoisting operations, the “surge-swab pressure” and “pressure at start/stop” of the tool are calculated.
Six procedures for calculation of pressure losses are implemented. In accordance with description of procedure conditions the program is able to set up a procedure for calculation of hydrodynamic parameters.
One of the calculation results is “Equivalent circulating density of the drill fluid” which is used in equilibrium drilling technology.
During hoisting operations topping up is automatically controlled. At the beginning of each hoisting operation, the control parameters for the new operation are automatically reset to “0”.
Drill fluid inflow/loss is constantly analyzed. If necessary, the GTI station operator can reset the accumulated parameters to “0”.
The calculation takes into account the change in the volume of the drilling tool and the volume of the drilled bottom-hole.
A special feature of the software package is the presence of an algorithm for analyzing the early warning of emission risk which allows you to pay attention to the relevant parameters and make a decision on further actions. An indication of the emission risk appears in the form of an animated picture in the user interface of the GTI station attracting the operator’s attention.
Monitoring process parameters and hydrocarbons by depth with a lag shows and saves the position of monitored depth marks and binds parameter values at the end of monitoring.
The parameters are saved to the depth database with a lag.
In real time, calculations of abnormally high pore pressure work more as an indicator of possible approach to the area. But, with the incorporation of additional data processing algorithms to the procedure, we increase the probability of getting the correct result.
Another feature of the software package is the availability of calculations of the “Specific Mechanical Energy” of the drill bit, the profitability of further run and the cost of drilling.
The software package provides a choice of 6 calculating procedures for the trajectory.
The GTI operator using mobile devices (tablet) can continue to monitor the well construction process, even being outside of the GTI station.
The software package informs the geologist about the output of cuttings selection marks with a given depth step. The geologist at the GTI station analyzes and enters data on the cuttings. A comment on the sludge is generated automatically, but you can enter an additional comment here.
The software package supports several types of data comments: automatic, user, and parameter values.
Comments are attached to a timestamp or depth.
A comment may contain an icon to indicate its importance or to indicate the situation. A photo can also be attached to the comment.
The comment can be linked to a specific printed form.
In real time, with a slight lag, current work operations are automatically determined. These operations can be displayed as a separate column on graphical forms.
The software package provides the ability to maintain a step-by-step description. Operations are tied to a timestamp.
When generating a daily GTI report, the entered operations are displayed on the “Daily Report” tab.
The software package visualizes data in various representations: graphical, tabular, mnemonic.
Daily report – export to MS Excel
Diagram by time, by depth – export to PDF
Time and depth data – export to MS Excel, LAS formats
Trajectory – export to PNG format
The cost of the software package “GTI Station Software” is agreement-based.
